Mark C. Covington Jr., MA, NCC, LPC, CAC-II

Mark Covington completed his Masters degree in Counseling from The George Washington University in 2016, where he became a Licensed Graduate Practicing Counselor (LGPC) and a Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC-II). Mark has experience in addictions counseling, conducting evaluations and assessments, providing group therapy, and case management. Mark is currently at The George Washington University in his Third year in the Counseling PhD program and is expected to finish in 2020.

Mark has provided residential and outpatient counseling services to adults, families, and couples. Mark’s past experiences have led him to use a strengths based solutions-focused approach, along with utilizing Dialectical Behavioral Therapies in working with groups, and individuals. Mark believes that people are doing the best that they can with the skills they have and need alternative ways of coping and expressing their feelings. Mark’s research focus has been in the realm of attachment, LGBT issues, and grief and loss.
